Chemical contaminants are the major one that is found in water. These are elements or compounds that are natural or manmade. Examples are nitrogen, salts, pesticides, bleach, minerals, metals, toxins, bacteria’s, human or animal drugs.

However, mostly minerals like fluoride, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, arsenic and bacterial growths are common in water supplies. The Municipal Corporation assures that water is safe to drink but the major segment uses well water that may contain residues. Ultraviolet (UV system): We know sunlight kills bacteria and microorganisms, right. The sun rays have a UV spectrum that is used in water filtration. However, the intensities are nil in comparison to sunlight.  It is also known as Germicidal Spectrum or Frequency. The frequency used in UV systems is 254nm (nanometer). The digital lamps with this frequency are said to be the highest amount of UV energies.

Filtration: A process where water passes through one or more filters for removal of taste, odor, chemical, turbidity, and color is known as filtration. The design can be either cartridge devices or loose media tank type. Actually, the process involves mechanical, neutralizing, absorption and oxidizing filters.

Distillation: The process where any liquid like water is heated, evaporated, cooled and condensed to a liquid state again to collect is known as distillation. In this process, contaminants are removed completely from the water. Distilled water has to pass through many evaporations and condensation cycles by eliminates salts and dissolved solids. To carry a small distillation process a lot of energy is required that is why it is not recommended.
